Follow the Sastras and benefit others as well
The Smritis provide for changing circumstances too. They lay down laws to suit varying conditions. They are the works of great intellects solely bent upon doing good and capable of looking far into the future.
The restrictions and limitations laid down in the Sastras have reference to the lofty ideal which the brahmin has ever to keep before his mind. He must cheerfully follow the Sastras and benefit others too.
